    So I worked at a company where the CEO on a call announced he wouldn't give "guidance" anymore. His argument was that whatever he gave if he didn't beat it, they thought it was bad, if they did the guidance wasn't high enough. So he just quit playing that game.

    They did release numbers.

    It doesn't seem like guidance is required exactly?
