Tell HN: Substack obfuscating text to break reading mode

I enabled Chrome reading mode for an article (https://paulkrugman.substack.com/p/will-crypto-crash-the-blue-wave fwiw) on Substack and was confronted with an unspaced mess of text. Inspecting the original page revealed source like :<span>Will</span><span> </span><span>crypto</span><span> </span><span>crash</span><span> </span><span>the</span><span> </span>

    ah damn, this bug came from the text color handling we added when you copy paste from google docs into substack. will be fixed in tomorrow mornings deploy

      Thx for posting this update (and for the work on substack!), it brings a relief to know this was a bug and not a "feature"

      I really like using reader mode on substack so I was a bit worried if this was intentional or not

    Firefox reading mode works without issues for me on that page. But can confirm I see the same thing in Chrome.
