Ask HN: Are .shop domains down?

Anyone else seeing this? Or am I missing something obvious? A client asked in support. AI is very confident about it. Looks legit.

    Pretty annoying. This opened my eyes that these new gTLDs should never be used for serious business. Our client has suffered serious damage in the thousands because of this downtime.

    It seems that GMO Registry (A Japanese company) owns the .shop extension and their DNS server (a.gmoregistry.net) is down. I assume ddos.

      Been intermittently up and down, back again but I bet it will be down again in an hour, based on today’s pattern. Costing us at least a few grand in sales.
