I graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor's in Computer Science. Unfortunately, I struggled to enter the industry and have still not landed a software job 3 years later. The feeling of constant blame, endless applying, and not being wanted - it brought me to the brink.
Writing my thoughts and discovering other places to contribute to saved my life. It took ages to find where I was wanted, and to better control my destiny. But it seems like I'm back on track.
I work as a Shift Lead in retail, and it's been mostly great, though due to relocation, I'm about to be back on the job market. This was a life-changing experience, for sure, though.
I mainly volunteered for nonprofits as a software engineer starting in 2023 - wildlife conservation, a food bank, and civic/democratic tech. I'm always seeking more opportunities to help great causes - if there's anything I have too much of, it's time.
With more experience under my belt, I'm able to build what I always wanted to. Currently, I have two main projects - Retconn Collaborative platform, a writer's critique and story sharing site.
Also in the works is The Aegis Directive, a story-driven anime environmental cleanup platform. Weird combination, I know. I think it'll work, though.
2017 was a bit of a personal renaissance year, as that's the year I started all of my writing, music production, and drawn art endeavors. 8 years later, I still haven't reached my dream, but I'm getting closer every day.
I'm always seeking more connections and hearing others' stories. Please reach out for any inquiries or conversations. And heck, a tech job wouldn't hurt... wink wink.
